The Pigeon Music Festival (sponsored by Seven Cs Inc.) was inaugurated today.
Five girls from Mrs. Lapin’s fourth-grade class showed us their skills at the barre with a fifty-minute long production of various dances from the Nutcracker.
Mrs. Lapin might only be a new hire at Our Lady of Sorrows but the girls’ performance of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy was inspired!
With a full crowd, all funds being raised to procure new equipment for Pigeon Creek’s fire department, the girls earned their first round of encores.
Our thanks go to the Korhonen family, namely Colton and Callan Korhonen, who directly funded this event and who, in turn, provided the town with a new fire truck.
After the girls’ encore, we were treated to a choral performance of modern songs by Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, and Metallica. Then, Calder McAllister and Eloise Grant took to the stage to reenact the “Tonight” scene from West Side Story.
While Mrs. Frobisher was a key organizer in this year’s festival, she did share with the crowd that this will be her last time at the helm.
If interested in applying, speak with Harold at the bakery who, in conjunction with The Coffee Shop, provided last night’s refreshments. Our deepest thanks to Harold and Dora for their contribution.
