Juliette McAllister, a Ray of Sunshine

Dear Editor,

It’s clear to me that the journalists at the Herald clearly don’t know their elbows from their noses. That tripe with the girls you called ‘inspired,’ but two of them nearly fell off the stage!  Calder and Eloise’s performance brought tears to my eyes but I notice that you barely mentioned that!

While everyone seems to hate on Calder, I think it’s a damn shame that talent can’t be respected in and of itself!

I, for one, won’t be attending next year’s festival!

Juliette McAllister

Dear Mrs. McAllister,

I, unlike the majority of the town whose property Calder has tagged, bear no ill will against him. In fact, I quite appreciated his mural: ‘Journalists are capitalist whores.’

It’s safe to say that it caused some disruption in town but it merely highlighted his awareness of the world around him.

Indeed, you are correct—his and Eloise’s performance was awe-inspiring. But it is possible to highlight the talents of both a group of eight-year-olds and your grandson’s skills on stage.

One does not diminish the other.

Yours insincerely,

Editor
