Pigeon Creek Girl Heading to Juilliard

Christy MacFarlane, daughter of Roger MacFarlane, the principal of the elementary and middle school is heading to New York.

The musician, renowned in town for her skills which have been showcased during several festivals, has been accepted at Juilliard, the acclaimed university, with a full scholarship.

Christy, declared an oboe virtuoso aged six, will be leaving Pigeon Creek shortly.

There will be a small gathering at the town hall where Christy will play the audience’s requests. Tickets cost $5 a piece and takings will be donated to the Fire Department who are fundraising for a new truck.

We at the Herald would like to wish Christy all the luck in the world.
